The Importance of Being a Humanitarian
I started out as a yoga instructor while I was being a humanitarian response manager. After that, I went into slightly more emergency relief focus and ended up going straight into the Ebola response in West Africa. And just saw more and more again of a few things, which I think have real impact within humanitarian affairs. One is public health; the other is mine action. Our heart and souls saw that mine action had real tangible effect to be able to release land and promote prosperity. So we focused on the situation we possibly could try and do what we could.
