Augustine's Confessions was a book produced by complex circumstances. It was an effort to lay out Augustine's youthful mistakes and to tell the story of how he became a better person. By modern standards, Augustine comes across from time to time as pretty harsh. In the next show, we're going to read the great theological sections of the Confessions.
