Book Coach Certification - What Is a Developmental Book Editor?

A book coach is someone who works with writers to help them get their ideas on the page. A developmental editor will read your manuscript and tell you, on a story structure level, what's not working. Most of the time there are things that are not working in a novel that need to be addressed. So we do that. We work on the manuscript, draft after draft, bit by bit with our writers. And then when it comes time when they are trying to pick a publishing path, whether its self publishing or whether it's finding an agent, we help them through it.
