Mindfulness - The Quality of Presence of Mind
In the practice of right mindfulness the mind is trained to remain in the present, open, quiet and alert contemplating the present event. All judgments and interpretations have to be suspended or if they occur just registered and dropped. The task is simply to note whatever comes up just as it is occurring. It's not so much a question of doing, it's a question of undoing all the habit patterns of proliferation, of judgment, of evaluation, of interpretation. Can we undo that and simply come back in the most simple way to be aware of whatever it is that's arising? And it's only six things which ever arise. So it's like we're listening to a six-piece chamber orchestra
