Great Lives

CHAPTER

Waterloggy Goes

Waterlog is a commons poem about systemic injustice. No one really knows where it comes from, but the idea of stealing common and goose has been around for centuries. The author was inspired by John Cheever's swimmer short story which tells of a middle-aged man in an affluent US suburb who decides to swim home through his neighbours' swimming pools. So trespass was at the core of this mission as he tried to stand up for his rights on private property.
