How Do Children Learn to Keep Secrets?

We tend to think of secrets as being kind of maybe distinctly human. It's hard to imagine other animals keep secrets, although I can imagine that Franz de Wahl would probably disagree with like other non-human primates. But also, you know, there there is a time when children begin to be deceptive. And it's very clear when that moment happens and like they kind of like look at you like they're testing out this new thing of lying.
