The Innovator, You Knowi's Lecture on the Tao

Lewis argues that it's just as reasonable to say some of the principles of the tao are premises. The innovator is trying to get a conclusion in the imperative mood, out of premises in the indicative mood - he cannot succeed. We must therefore either extend the word reason to include what our ancestors called practical reason, and confess that judgments such as society ought to be preserved; or else we must give up at once.
