Early histories of any movement are, you know, almost by default, sort of a colonial enterprise. They absorb all the biases of the culture at that particular time. We look at things like helmet, Gurnsein's history or Beaumont, Newhall's history as almost like founding documents. But they were still products of their time, and we need to think of them that way.
