Zappa: A Biography

Zappa is polarizing, but not in a kind of gimmicky way. I don't want to be in the Zappa war. None of the kids are in the doc because I didn't want to step into that fracas. We had complete permission from everybody and most importantly from Gail and The Trust. Part of why I made that film was I grew up in a very... You know, I said this to Moon very at the very beginning. When I started working on it was like this was very similar to my upbringing. And insulated and weird. It's own world.
