The Battle of Madrid
An army coming from the south would have run into terrible problems. First of all you have to get through a belt of essentially shanty towns, slum housing and light industry. And then but it's not fully yet, then you have to fight your way up through uphill. It's incredibly steep up to the top of the bluff on which the bulk of the city sits on. The casta campo of the Royal Hunting Park is basically lightly wooded scrub land. Very easy to move around in. There's no notes. You can move through it without being seen from a distance.
