Xi Jinping's Father Was a Very Respected Member of the Communist Party
Xi's father was a part of the very respected, relatively senior member of the party. Xi leveraged that period, if you like, of a humble life, those difficulties. He would be able to get jobs as local cadres that enabled him to move up the hierarchy in a steady way. And he was able to project that he was a safe pair of hands which enabled him to become a safe choice later on when finally the party wanted to pick a successor.
