Most white people are still likely to live in a predominantly white neighborhood. In 1968, the Fair Housing Act was passed to directly address things like this. But enforcement has been weakened and attempts to strengthen it have hit roadblocks. The Department of Housing and Urban Development didn't officially extend protections to LGBTQ people until 2021.
