The Rationalist Perspective on AI
The rationalists are a group of people who try to analyze everything based on probabilities and statistics. They want to make quote rational decisions based on the best information, based on probabilities about the future. The perspective is that there is only a very small possibility that AI will kill us all. But it's not zero. And if we have to make a rational decision about whether to continue with AI, then that low probability event has to get a huge weighting.
