I think it's, for me, because of my circumstances, I think there's multiple variables that have contributed to this behavior. My parents getting divorced when I was very young,. They lived in different states, and my parents weren't great communicators. So I was always the friction in the middle. It wasn't until I went to grad school that I started being around people that were more like me. And advocating for myself in a way that I demanded more from others.
