Before Larry had become Steve, he had lived in Des Moines and run his family's German Shepherd breeding mill until it got shut down by the singer Sarah McLaughlin. Despite his state-ordered vasectomy at the age of 16, Larry had ended up with a family. He married a woman who had three children and I did adopt all three of those children,. But we never were close and I was never really their blood father.
