How to Use Design Tokens to Make Your Website More Like Your Brand

At GitHub, we call them like the base level tokens. There everybody calls them something else. And those are like lowest level representations of a value. So you might have base size four, which is four pixels and it will never change. It will always be four pixels, but you could have button in line padding, referencing that base size four. And that might change to eight someday. Then you would just reference a different size. That's what we call, I get how we call it the functional layer, but semantic is a good word for it too,. Because it's like actually representing a piece of UI.
