Rick Riordan is not the first guy to play in the sandbox of fully public domain characters who used to be part of a religion. So, there's the God of War series. Here's dad, Kratos yelling about something, probably a son. It was my whole personality for a year. I also played age of mythology and thought I thought it whipped. "I think I'm also good games," he says.

It's episode 600, baybee!!! To celebrate, we're embarking on a voyage through Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, some middle-grade fantasy-but-in-the-real-world fiction that passed us by when it came out in 2005. We'll be reading the first five books in the series, starting with The Lightning Thief.
