Is the Level of Testing Enough?
South Africa's rate of testing positive is higher than any country in the world. It could be that we're just smarter about testing and we use intelligence more effectively so that you don't waste as many tests as they do overseas. I've got no doubt that a number of countries test athletes to pad the numbers. They'll test athletes with no intention of catching them knowing that they're not going to get anything. Pad the numbers, produce one or two positives, make it look like they're doing enough. But they don't really want to address the biggest problems. So there's no will. There's no real appetite to go after them. You should write a column called the cynic
