J.B. Rine's Test of Extra Sensory Perception

J.B. Rine's first experiments with what he would later call extra sensory perception were fairly informal. He approached a colleague at Duke University, psychologist Dr. Carl Zener, to create a set of cards that could be used to test ESP. By 1931, Rine conducted 10,000 Zener experiments with 63 participants. You can see Zener cards used in a scene from the 1984 movie Ghostbusters where Bill Murray's character is testing ESP.
