The Stability of Pulsar Pulses

Pulsars are really good clocks and these wobbles are so small that we have to look for very slow changes in the arrival times of the pulses. So you've been measuring these now for 15 years I think according to the paper and over that time some of them have just sped up this tiny tiny little bit and others have slowed down that tiny tinylittle bit. That's because gravitational waves change the distances between objects. As the gravitational wave contracts the fabric of space time the pulsar pulses arrive a little bit early and as it expands the fabric ofspace time they arrive a little later.
