The default lamda environment doesn't have the same sort of operating system set up that is needed for a lot of these pippin stalls, numpi being a huge one. Instead, just dokerize your ap and you'll use that docker container as your Lambda function. That's the magic of docker containers, their silod environments at the operating system level.
