"I had problems with the fact that we didn't have, um, we, like our con plan," he says. "My leadership, I mean, they didn't like me anyways, right? Uh, and so they ended up leaving me." He was in charge of a mission to support Afghan border patrol when it got pushed back from its original target date by eight days. The U.S.-led coalition forces were supposed to go into Afghanistan on September 7th but changed their plans after an internal debate over how best to conduct the mission.
