A. Caneba is the author of a new book about developer advocacy. He says it's difficult for non technical people in an organization to understand what developers do. But he believes there are two types of advocate: pre pipe line and te pipe line. Pre pipe line advocates reach out early, before engineers have had time to get used to their technology. Te pipe line advocates go straight to the sea of ocassionals who don't know how development works.
