Set and Horace Fought in a Duel in the River
Set challenged horse to a duel in the river, where they would both turn into hippopotami and submerge themselves in the water. The first person to come up for air, or come up because he was dead, would forfeit. Isis had to do something to help her son so she fashioned an iron spear and crouched by the river banks as the fight raged beneath the surface. Set surfaced and wailed, asking his sister in law why she was hurting him. In his rage, he scooped up her lifeless body, chased down her rolling head and brought it to the one man who could help: Thoth.
