What Does It Mean to Be a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy?

i am a lieutenant commander in the navy. I do wear my uniform on occasion. A lot of times at scrubs, just doing clinical, clinical duty. Im paying back a medical scholarship that i got r for medical schools. My sense of army doctors is they were very unsympathetic to poor troops. So i guess e is the navy a little kinder of defence on where you are in the system.
