Running alone doesn't seem to be enough of a stimulus to increase the desirable tissue qualities that we want to see in bone. Heavy resistance training and plyometrics tend to affect different parts of the muscle and the tendon. I think doing them both makes a lot of sense, but you should periodize it just like all things.
