Piers' friend's dad used to pick up his 500 SCLs from Stuttgart. Mercedes offered factory collection for their cars back in the 80s. You got a German temporary plate, which was oval. And it was on these oval German plates that would transit you till you got home. Piers: "I could imagine him wearing in the day a very thin blues on style leather jacket"
