The Good Soldier
He was a very prolific writer, one has to say that. He wrote more than 80 books altogether and you can't expect someone to keep up the kind of, you know, the white heat of achievements through all of those. And I think when he was writing well, he didn't know it. The writing in some of the books, particularly the good soldier, but also in parades end and some of the memoirs, is sort of supercharged in a way that a lot of the writing isn't.
