The Evolution of Human Genetic Variation
There is very little evidence of what are called population specific alleles. People in Africa are much more likely to have this mutation that makes them resistant to malaria. There has been some diversification since that genetic diversification. Even a fairly small population and localized geographic population of individuals probably contains over 95% of the human genetic variation.
