How to Overfund a 529
If you overfund a 529 now, you're having an escape hatch for $35,000. All you're doing then is robbing your child's future ability to be able to do Roth IRA contributions because that's $6,000 and eats up their bucket. I'd let this account over here grow for when you get to retirement. And if I can't, if I don't have the money to pay for college, I want, you know, you to go out and get student loans or grants or scholarships or whatever else.
