The Rise and Fall of the Hyper Immersive Sci-Fi, Techie Future
In the early days of digital media, there was a vision of this sort of hyper immersive sci-fi future relative to how slow and slow compute was in the rest. And as he got older, what became clear was that the ideas behind these sort of sci-fi stories with the really cool technology were fundamentally horror stories about horrible, dystopic futures. He called up his old boss from Cyber Lab and said, Hey, are you seeing what I'm seeing? It's like this convergence of all these things are reaching a certain maturity point,. We've been talking about this stuff for 25 years. Let's get in the middle there and see what we can make.
