There is a way around the fire building regulations for green roofs. Ase i says you're plumbing with plants, if we consider everything that goes in on a building is about plumbing. You would have to have relatively deep substraight there for those climbing plants that go down. And you'd probably have some kind of wire structure that takes them to the wall so they can't grow across the shingle. But then you've got to get the water to be able to get into the planter and that's plumbing.
