What Happened to the Maroons in the Americas?

Those are people who've created, who've run away from they're enslavers on places like jamaica,. They meet up with other people who've ran away. Oftentimes indigenous people in these places are also a part of the story. And slowly but surely, as numbers grow, they create communities that can start to defend themselves and provide a place for those still enslaved to figure out how to get to.
