The Putin Narrative: The West Was Always Out to Get Us
Putin narrative is that we, Russia, were not doing anything wrong and the West was always out to get us. He has a very well-rehearsed listen the woe going back to Iraq War, Libya, etc. But I think the fundamental point is that Russia never really accepted that it should play by the rules of the Western game. They feel these rules were made at a time when Russia was weak and enforced in a way that they find hypocritical.
