Chipmunk's Grasp on the Treasure
Chipmunk felt the heat of embarrassment and guilt rise in her cheeks. But why did she feel guilty? And besides, it was a lot of ridiculous stalling when she and the rest of them knew what had to be done. No one even had to say it. They had to bring the object to the committee. It just so happened that the committee was meeting at that very moment. Chipmunk gripped the object inside its satiny drawstring pouch tightly between her claws. She could barely believe she'd made it to the meeting at all. Her feet certainly didn't want to take her there.
