How to Start a Maths Starter

I didn't know how long I could go for just defining or recalling stuff from last lessons. But if you did it with small groups, so like a few kids on a table, they could all be saying the same things. So it doesn't have to last long, but you can get a lot of information quite quickly. Now, my starters in my classes are much more boring than yours, Paul. My starters, at least in my year eight maths class, they're basically every day they look the same. There's between about seven and 10 questions on a printed sheet. The students come in and they grab one and they start working on it silently straight away. And it will include
