Dancers and the Discourses of Sexuality and Sexuality

I feel like for some women it is simply a matter of feeling like their body is their own you know and I joke about it I joke about how my mom would twitch when she would watch me dance but I think about that a lot. The contradictions that you point to the injustice that that underscore those contradictions have been challenging for me to negotiate as a dancer. Despite all the years of training I don't know how to go into public spaces the way I used to knowing what I know so there's that. There are families who believe that they could translate their daughter's ability to look like a dancer whether she's dancing or not in a social space that will make her more desirable and marriage remains
