I thought you had a very admirable stab at that. Because i think what we're seeing in the p r c now is that standard pronunciation has become such a marco of education, regional dialects are dying out slowly and naturally. We're seeing a kind of homogenization attempt which comes from this dyelike being so helpful and useful and functional. But at the same time it does lose that diversity that we talked about as being a problem before. And this is a real trad off, isn't it? Because in fact, languages go extinct all the time.
