The protagonist of the novel is Bodhi Kane, a lonely girl from Southern Indiana. Some of the book revolves around her experience as a charity case at a made up boarding school in New Hampshire. She comes back to Granby to teach a podcasting class and prods students into reinvestigating Thalia Keith's murder.
