How to Build a Black Hole From the Inside Out
Strings are one dimensional vibrating objects made of pure energy, essentially. You can build a black hole mathematically from the inside out using one-dimensional strings. Samuel Mathur created a mathematical black hole out of a collection of strings and he called this thing a fuzzball. And that kind of solves the, not solved, but it's one way of avoiding the singularity problem.
