The Airport's Water Damage Caused Concerns About Ventilation in a Fire
In October 2016, it was discovered that motors used to open and close windows wouldn't work above 30 degrees Celsius or 86 Fahrenheit. 80% of the doors would not open, creating concerns around venting of smoke in a fire. Of the cables at this airport, 700 kilometers of it, which is 430 miles of cable had to be replaced because of water damage. And over the decade since they were installed, they'd all been corroded.
