College Admissions - Myth Number Six

The Reddit college confidential culture is called a chance me, chance me for Yale. It doesn't work because you can't estimate the chances of tens of thousands of other students who also apply. The answer is almost always because we have this crazy big and crazy strong applicant pool. For most applicants who are denied, you could go back and say, yeah, if there weren't 35,000 other students who were applying this year, we would be delighted to have this student on our campus. That's just the kind of context and nuance that makes its way into admissions.
