When you think about the products that are most engaging, most habit forming, you will find one or more of these three types of variable rewards. Rewards of the tribe are things that feel good, that have this element of variability, bit of mystery, and come from other people. What I call rewards of the hunt stem from our primal search for food and other material possessions. In modern society, we buy these things with money. We teach product management, coding, data analytics, and blockchain in 14 campuses worldwide.
