The Negative View of Sharks

Sharks are the second most threatened group of vertebrates on the planet after amphibians. There are more species of shark that are threatened with extinction than there are mammals. Peter Benchley has spent a lot of money trying to make people realise that this image of the shark as a violent predator was something that's not really true. I think we still have this very negative view of sharks, and don't get me wrong, sharks are awesome predators but they're also gentle plankton eaters.
