The Importance of Confirming Resistance Mechanism in Carbapenomases
I think for the carbapenomases, I am a huge fan of confirming resistance mechanism. It's partly because you want to know your epidemiology. And so we kept looking until we found it. So I think it's super important from an epidemiological perspective. The ESBLs are too complicated. We just don't have a great way to do it unless you're able to do holds you don't sequencing routinely.
