The Importance of Mentoring in Early Careers
I think there are things that can be done without ripping everything up, but we have to move away from incentives we currently have. We're just having more money, just having more papers in nature is not all that counts. I believe peer to peer mentoring is very important too. And what about the women's sciences listening now? If you've taken our three supervisors, who were all perfectly decent, guys, and made them into one person, they'd have been perfect. But they all had these feelings. So talking about these things, I find very helpful.
