I was brought up similar to these farmers and settlers view of the land. And that we therefore have this obligation and duty to the land rather than the land owing us anything. We owe something back to try to help uphold it and carry on that responsibility. I think we all need to stop thinking of indigenous people as victims of climate change. In actuality they are the best hope any of us has for a livable future, a habitable planet.
