The Importance of Self Worth in Relationships
This comparison of back and forth is very, very hurtful to yourself. It's also making your partner feel very uncomfortable because now they're in a position of not being good enough. So often it's fueled by a lack of self worth or self love. If you're always needing validation, or if you're only ever feeling good when you feel better than someone else, then you're a candidate for these deep jealous feelings that are retroactive jealousy. You cannot work on your retroactive jealousy if you can't work on your relationship with yourself.
