Is It Efficient to Use Generalization Abstraction?

If you were to imagine some sort of alien I mean you could imagine octopuses they're basically aliens but other kinds of aliens. There's gonna be some information processing involved in that thinking and they're gonna have a memory if they're gonna do thinking right? It doesn't matter what is physically made of or the physical system it could be anything, the important thing is that it needs to efficiently store information. That's only gonna happen if you have things like abstraction generalization so then it's gonna prune it perhaps that's the reason that we would naturally prune and get rid of the stuff that is inefficiently.
