Boston had a reputation throughout its history for being a place both of debauchery and a place sort of like somewhat atoned for your debauchery. So the boston tea party, when it happened, was seen as a huge failure of that balance. The bassan tile were just thownit into a pond. They got off, actually, on the technicality because it was sunday, and it's not technically treason.
